I began working for FloodSource in Euless, TX developing flood information systems. My first complete project, from design phase to production, was Veriflood. I was responsible for designing, implementing, and testing several key components of the Veriflood site, including lender management, user management, form validation, and password retrieval. The site is a web service for online sales of flood determinations. The web itself is built using Apache Tomcat, Eclipse, and Jakarta Struts. I also developed a marketing tool using Python and Tcl/Tk for contacting flood data consumers.
In July of 2006, we were acquired by TransUnion and moved down to Austin, TX. Currently, we have several large initiatives in place, my favorite of which is a project using the Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP) as our framework for development. Eclipse RCP is a very exciting technology, somewhat on the bleeding edge, but sturdy enough to support our needs. We are making very heavy use of the internal mechanics of Eclipse for our GUI (SWT, JFace, Eclipse Views, and Eclipse Editors), application architecture (MVC using the OSGI service framework), and user access level management.
We are also developing a new in-RAM data management server that is paramount to the continued success of our operations. Unfortunately, due to the confidentiality of the project, I cannot discuss further details.
Graduated summa cum laude with a 3.8 GPA. Senior Design team leader for a successful Visual Basic project training music students. The only Software Engineering major that semester to graduate summa cum laude. My degree plan was tailored for focus in languages, databases, and project management. For a light overview, my personal favorite topics during my tenure at UTA were Java, Oracle SQL, C++, Lisp, and UML.
