Manager of Applications Development, responsible for team of seven
developers, and all in-house applications. These Oracle database
applications support all aspects of the Commonwealths Workers
Compensation service. Hired five new staff developers. Established
simple form of an SDLC and set software coding standards. Facilitated
user groups through Business Process Modeling sessions to capture BPM
in the Oracle Designer tool. Project managed Oracle 9I to Oracle 10g
upgrade of production systems.

Created views, PL/SQL packages, and Unix Korn scripts in support of
ROCKBLOCK application. Tasks included working with DBA and users to
define data elements and model new tables via ORACLE Designer 2000.
These tables used to feed Cognos Cubes, and various EDI transaction
types in support of global supply chain and transportation processes.
PL/SQL packages written to extract data via UTL_FILE calls. Batch
scripts written to manage multiple ETL jobs.

Boston, MA MAY 2001 - DEC 2001
PL/SQL package development in support of a financial datamodel from
FTI. Designed and coded procedures that uploaded data via a Database
Link, on a daily basis, from one Oracle 8i database to another. Tasks
included table modeling using Oracle Designer tool, as well as PL/SQL
code and test. Also contributed to the creation of departments' PL/SQL
error handling standards and common procedures. This included modeling
common error tables thru Designer 2000, for use by 24hr support staff
of production databases.

Southboro, MA AUGUST 2000 - APRIL 2001
Supported Oracle database on corporate training server. Taught
developers customizations to the clients' Application,( JAVA and XML
components of WEB version), a field service management database. Duties
included Oracle installations with the service database at customer
sites, as well as training.

Concord, MA APRIL 1999 - DECEMBER 1999
Created PL/SQL packages and Unix Korn scripts in support of a
datawarehouse application. Tasks included working with data architect
to define database objects and layout dataflows from mainframe systems
to the new database. SQL*Loader used to load the tables and PL/SQL
calls to the UTL_FILE package were used to extract data for downstream
systems.
Work closely with the project data architect using the Oracle Designer
tool to group develop new objects.

Lowell, MA OCTOBER - APRIL 1999
Contract consulting in ORACLE Developer 2000 forms, and reports. The
application supported 75 phone center users doing on-line data entry of
medical surveys. Tasks included meeting with key users to analyze gaps
in production system and make recommendations for improvements. Managed
two contractors in effort to code and test approved upgrades.
Designed and implemented new process to automate distribution of hanged
modules onto client PC's.

Contract consulting on ORACLE Financials upgrade project. Task involved
converting custom reports and SQL scripts to ORACLE SQL*Reports 2.5
16-bit version.
* CVS CORPORATION
Woonsocket, RI AUGUST 1998
Contract consulting on custom data warehouse Supply Chain Management
application. Tasks included UNIX scripting in Korn shell and
modifications to PRO*C code that updated the ORACLE database. The
changes were in support of a system directory re-alignment project
spanning a PYRAMID and an HP platform.

Walpole, MA AUGUST 1996 - JUNE 1998
Contract consulting on an ORACLE application for a medical diagnostics
company. The application uses Sql*Forms, and Reports to capture, store,
analyze and export data produced by an automated diagnostic instrument.
Acted as lead developer using ORACLE Designer 2000 to model system
based on an existing Paradox application. Also acted as DBA building
databases on two platforms. One for development used Solaris 2.5 UNIX
on a Sun Station 5, and for beta tests and future production, VMS on an
ALPHA was used.
** AT&T CAPITAL CORPORATION
Morristown, NJ / Framingham, MA MARCH 1995 - AUGUST 1996
Project leader supporting a custom ORACLE application which serves a
financial group of 30 users in two remote sites. The system provides
inventory finance services to customers and is comprised of, Order
entry, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Billing, and Electronic Data
Interchange functions. The application included 180 tables, 100
screens, daily, weekly, and onthly batch cycles (SQR, C, Korn shell)
with over 150 separate processes and reports. Recent asks included;
the relocation/upgrade of the production ORACLE v6 system(in NJ) to
ORACLE v7 on new platform in MA, staffing new support team in MA,
adding EDI function to automate credit approvals for on-line trading
partners. Oracle Designer tool used to reverse engineer the database to
provide the basis for system documentation.
* HARTFORD INSURANCE
Hartford, CT OCTOBER 1992 - MARCH 1995
Contract consulting on ORACLE software development projects.Projects
included a system to aid underwriters in preparing bids for corporate
clients. The system was client server based with access to a central
server given to the companies regional offices. Another project
converted a host-based COBOL system that booked all premium collections
for the corporation, into an ORACLE application on client server
hardware. Both applications built using Oracle tools for Windows.
FINANCIAL DATA PLANNING
Needham, MA JUNE 1992 - SEPTEMBER 1992
This project was the company first exposure to ORACLE. The task
involved porting their existing BASIC and COBOL application from an HP
host to a network of IBM PS2 workstations running ORACLE. My tasks were
to provide a pilot front end using SQL*Forms for them to evaluate, and
also to develop programming standards for their development staff.
** APPLIED INFOWORX
Marlboro, MA JULY 1988 - NOVEMBER 1991
This was an investor owned software development and host services
company that developed software on speculation in conjunction with the
Diebold Corporation, and also a POS system for McDonald's Corp.
New Technology Evaluator/Consultant. Instant Video Library System.
Designed Oracle based solution for storage and retrieval of
compressed video data. The system used Pro*FORTRAN to process
'customer' credit card requests to 'rent' a video file, SQL*Menu
and SQL*Forms used to monitor, configure and operate the library.
Project Leader/Consultant. Frequent Buyer POS Program.
Performed the initial analysis and hardware/software design for a
'frequent buyer' promotional POS system for McDonald's. Each
franchise would have a PC based Oracle database system with bar code
readers available to 'club card' customers. All transactions would
update through to AI's centralized Oracle host database system. In
addition to SQL*Menu, SQL*Forms, Pro*FORTRAN, mailing lists and
various reports done with SQL*ReportWriter.
Project Leader/Sole Oracle Developer. VIDTRAC host system.
For the Video Transaction Clearing Corporation, provided the initial
system design, project plan and hired two additional software people
to create a Video Dispensing Machine,(VDM) host network. The VDM
manufacturer,(Diebold) supplied VDM equipment and field support
services. The Oracle based system allowed VDM's to rent and accept
returns(via robotic restocking) of video tapes in an 'unattended'
mode.
** YANKEE ATOMIC ELECTRIC COMPANY
Southboro, MA June 1979 - July 1988
Computer Services Department, held positions in three groups of this
department,(the group/date and projects follow).
Computer Operations Group, June 1987 to July 1988, Senior Systems
Analyst.
Responsible for corporate systems capacity and planning.
Presentation to corporate computer review board of usage and
SPM data to merit upgrade to DEC 6210 from VAX 780,(system
installed 7/88).
Designed and implemented a computer usage chargeback
application that integrated
Digital and Control Data usage accounting data. The application
is used to recover the annual $4 mil. CSD budget.
Coordinated the installation of the Ingres RDBMS on the LAVC
for use by a sponsor companies project.
Supplied technical support to the DEC system administrator and
users.
Cyber Systems Support, September 1986 to June 1987, Systems Analyst.
Part of a team initially formed to handle all aspects of Yankee
acquiring its first in-house mainframe computer.
Benchmarking of proposed CDC 855 system, replacing Cyber 175
system.
Designed and implemented computer usage and chargeback system.
This fed computer usage charges into the corporate accounting
FASBE database.
Project leader on FORTRAN 4 to FORTRAN 5 conversion task.
Technical support and training to new operations staff.

Computer Applications Group, January 1980 to September 1986,
Programmer/Analyst on varied software development projects:
Project Leader on IITS BASIS Database system. This system
provided the Seabrook Plant constructor with daily tracking on
all Incomplete Items.
Project Leader on PROCTR system. This corporate Decision
Support database used Digitals DBMS, TDMS, and COBOL.
Programmer on IMS project. This was Yankees first use of IBM
PC's. The BASIS document control database was remotely updated
by each plant.
Programmer on the Safety Parameter Display System,(SPDS). This
was a joint Yankee/EPRI project for control room plant status
computer systems.
