Daniel Bazinet
20+ years experience, 10 in the mechanical engineering and sciences, and
10+ in real-time embedded and dedicated systems software. Systems I have
designed or worked within include: labratory instrumentation, high-volume
high reliability safety related controls, large semiconductor FAB
equipment including stages, robotics, image processing and algorithmics,
scanning electron microscopes (including arbitrary waveform generator for
scan), and multiple single-chip based products. I am an intuitive
designer, and work hard to develop true insight into the desired system to
produce elegant designs that are easy to understand, analyze, and change
as the product matures and needs more features. I am skilled and
experienced with real-time systems and O/S's, and experienced in bringing
troubled programs to positive fruition. I also use UL1998 techniques
wherever warranted, and can facilitate getting UL1998 certification as
part of your overall UL product certification.
I also have several years experience inside TCP/IP routers and switches,
and experience with ethernet, ATM & FDDI-token ring. I have worked inside
many of the protocols such as RIP, ARP, OSPF & DHCP.
I believe in being involved in the full life-cycle and gamut of product
dvelopment, from architecture, to risk-analysis, to user documentation,
and internal documentation - all to help insure the products sucess, but I
let the client guide me to where my focus is needed.
Projects have included the VxWorks and AMX real-time kernels, as well as
simpler "time-slot" designs on top of the bare CPU without any supporting
O/S. I am abreast of the real-time industry, and have evaluted the
documentation and workings of all the well-known RTOS's. Also I have been
involved in cooperative real-time O/S's but they tend to create more
problems than they solve, and are not my preferred route to an easily
modified system - they usually become extrodinarily complex as the product
matures and timing is easily disturbed by any changes.
My skills overlap well with other engineers in EE, ME, and System/Chief
engineers, to provide a smooth continum of engineering within the product.
I am an expert in "C" and assembly languages, and have experience with C++
and the STL.
After initial contact, I can send you a detailed resume and technical
addendum. Please include a phone number in your initial E-mail, or I
will not consider it a serious inquiry. (spam...)
