CONSULTING AND PROJECT HISTORY

·        Pretzel Logic, Inc. - Manage the consulting division of this application systems lifecycle management company, with responsibility for over 90 consultants at offices in Boston,  New York, Washington, DC and Atlanta. Manage client satisfaction and relationships with clients and vendors. Implemented project management and engagement management methodology.

 

·        National Leisure Group, Inc. – Project manager for the development and implementation of NLG’s e-Commerce multi-site Internet application for retail distribution of cruises and packaged tours. This system provides for on-line vacation bookings and positioned NLG’s VacationOutlet to become one of the premier providers of on-line vacations. Technology is IIS, COM/DCOM, and SQL-Server with an Oracle back-end.

 

·        National Leisure Group, Inc. – Project manager for the implementation of NLG’s Oracle-based call center reservation system which controls call processing for 34 retail stores and inbound calls from the internet reservation system. This is an Oracle back-end with Powerbuilder clients.

 

·        Advantage Schools, Inc. - Project manager for the development and implementation of the corporate intranet application that provides the 25 member schools the administrative capability to track admissions, grades and community services. Technology is IIS with a SQL-Server back-end.

 

·        Globetrotters, Inc. -    Managed the development of multi-site call-center travel reservations system. This system connected multiple reservation centers and provides for load balancing for call processing.

 

·        PC Connections, Inc. - Project Manager for the implementation of  JD Edwards Corporate Financial Information systems.

 

·        Wang Laboratories, Inc. - Project Manager for development of  a Customer Service System for a major PC Service provider.  This was a 10-person project involving PC front ends, an Informix server and mid-range database host.

 

·        Gillette, Inc. - Reviewed commercially available systems development methodologies and assisted them in the selection process of their corporate SDM.  Also consulted on the improvement of the overall IS Process Management function.

 

·        Elscint, Inc. - Managed and developed a fully integrated Field Service Management System using 4GL tools. This included modules for call handling and dispatch, logistics, field inventory management and reporting.

 

 

·        St. Joseph’s Hospital (NH) - Performed an Information Systems Department review and evaluation for St. Joseph’s.  This included staffing, software, hardware, and business requirements review and recommendations. Served for six months as interim CIO.

 

·        Simplex Wire and Cable - Developed and implemented an Information Systems Strategic plan for Simplex.  Provided an organization and business application review and recommendations to implement the strategic plan.

 

·        Catholic Medical Center (NH) - Developed and implemented an Information Systems strategic plan for Catholic Medical Center.  Defined the IS architecture and assisted in the selection of application packages for each functional area.

 

·        Mass Bar Association/Boston Bar Association/Old Sturbridge Village - Delivered management consulting services and conference planning software evaluation to these and several other non-profit associations and organizations.  These included membership organizations and museums.

 

·        Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. – Implemented the maintenance outsourcing line of service for Coopers and Lybrand by managing and staffing a 25 person outsourcing team at Liberty Mutual to maintain their Business Products mainframe software systems.

 

·        Wang Laboratories, Inc, - Defined the infrastructure for the International systems organization. This included the specification of  organization, hardware, software selection and communications infrastructure. Also created and staffed the domestic support organization. Grew this organization to 110 professionals.

 

·        Emerson-Swan, Inc. - Project Manager and lead designer for a Sales Quote System using a Visual Basic front end, Access database and NT-SQL Server back end.

 

·        Performed an IT Architecture Review for a multi-divisional manufacturer, which was converting from mainframe to Client-Server technology.
