Work Experience:

04/07 to Present:

Pinnacle Airlines Corp., Memphis, Tennessee.

The airline is converting from one of their older systems - CMS - to two newer ones.  Lawson HR & Financial and Ramco Systems Aviation Solution.

I am the Data Conversion Lead for the CMS to Ramco data conversion part of the project.

Ramco handles the all of the aircraft maintenance for Pinnacle's entire fleet of CRJ200 aircraft - which fly as NorthWest Airlink; and CRJ900 aircraft which fly as Delta Connection.

Bringing the data out of CMS was no easy task.  Basically I FTPed the data files directly from CMS to a PC and had to reformat and massage it into a flat file capable of being loaded to SQL Server.  Working with one aspect of the conversion at a time I pulled the data from CMS to temporary SQL tables.  At that time I ran a series of SQL queries - some written as SQL Server Stored Procedures - to clean up and massage the data into a format to be put into the Ramco load utilities.  Quite a bit of analysis and data manipulation was involved.

Most of the time spent on this project involves working directly with SQL Server 2005.

The project is still currently proceeding on schedule and is expected to be implemented fully by early 2008.

12/03 to 04/07:

Gate Gourmet International, Inc., Memphis, Tennessee.

Maintenance of their Human Resources Salary system. This included the maintenance and new development of programs developed using DB2 and COBOL II in an MVS environment. The on-line Human Resources system had been developed using INTEGRAL SYSTEMS Human Resources software.

Prepare numerous reports which I usually load to Excel spreadsheets to satisfy user requests from the field or at the headquarters here in Memphis. Most of these reports I put together using Easytrieve/DB2 and then format them as semi-colon delimited for easy import to Excel, Access or SQL Server.

Currently working on an HR conversion project to convert historical HR and Payroll data from the Integral HR/Payroll system to the new HR/Payroll system from Ultimate Software.

Currently working to set up automated Data Transfer for extracts from HR/Payroll to various vendors using MS SQL Server DTS.

Query data from the new HR/Payroll system using Impromptu.

6/02 to 12/03:

ITN, Inc., Germantown, Tennessee.

Designed and implemented an RDBMS in MS Access. This included creating and implementing a data conversion plan to use SQL to import and then convert current Excel spreadsheet data into MS Access tables. Also developing screens to access and maintain this data. The application included some embedded Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) code.

1/01 to 6/02:

Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), Memphis, Tennessee.

I was assigned to support FedEx's MAXI-MERLIN system (MAXI). MAXI provides and supports automated methods to satisfy the legal and regulatory requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regarding aircraft engineering, maintenance, and supply chain activities, within the Air Operations Division (AOD) of FedEx Express. Integrated business process control modules are used to ensure that technical, operational, and economic performance objectives are met or exceeded. Also, through a series of interfaces with Finance and Accounting Division systems, MAXI provides and supports financial audit trails and controls required by the FAA. The system was developed in Adabas and Natural.

I was originally brought on board in January, 2001 to make enhancements to MAXI to provide Component Traceability. Changes associated with this project modified MAXI and the business practices of Warehouse and Line Maintenance personnel to ensure that all parts used in aircraft maintenance can be traced back to their original purchase order. This change was made to satisfy FAA requirements.

6/99 to 12/00:

Thomas & Betts Corporation, Memphis, Tennessee.

I was originally brought in to write NATURAL batch programs to support the Adabas side of an IMS to Adabas data conversion. I took order, shipping, invoice and customer data which was unloaded from IMS and performed data edits, validations and loads into Adabas files, converting over 400,000 existing orders for TOPS, the new Thomas & Betts Order Processing System. After implementation of TOPS in November 1999 and until now, I have been working on the system in a support capacity, supporting additional data conversion following several acquisitions. I also designed and wrote an Order Archive process that removes completed and paid for orders from the TOPS system and copies the data to tapes from which an order may be restored from on request. TOPS is a proprietary global order management system, containing 4,500 separate programs, that includes advanced Internet, data warehouse and decision support technologies. The system manages, on a worldwide basis, the inventory, ordering, pricing and fulfillment for more than 100,000 of the company's products. TOPS enables real-time allocation of stock to customers' orders while allowing the company's distributor customer's web-access to track the status of their order.

8/98 to 4/99:

National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA)

George C. Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Alabama.

I was brought on to support programming for Dryden Flight Research Center in Edwards Air Force Base, CA. I also was primarily brought on to develop data conversion programs using Adabas and Natural for NASAs Integrated Financial Management Project; specifically the data from Dryden Flight Research Center.

5/95 to 8/98:

State of Delaware, Division of Revenue, Wilmington, Delaware.

Primary responsibilities were the maintenance of a new system we developed to keep track of demographic tax return data for every taxpayer in the state. Included was the new development and maintenance of programs using Adabas and Natural 2. The online programs were executed in a CICS environment and the batch programs were executed in an MVS environment. We are working on several new projects currently, including a new Tax Audit system and an upgrade to the state's Personal Income Tax system. Both are written in Adabas and Natural 2 and we are also converting some of the existing data to the ORACLE RDBMS to be accessed using SQL and SQL*Plus in both the UNIX and Windows NT environments.

8/92 to 4/95:

Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO Energy), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

My Primary responsibility was the maintenance of their Human Resources Salary system. This included the maintenance and new development of on-line programs developed using DB2/CSP and batch programs using DB2 and COBOL II in an MVS environment. The on-line Human Resources system had been developed using INTEGRAL SYSTEMS Human Resources software.

3/89 to 7/92:

E.I. Dupont Company, Wilmington, Delaware.

I utilized Adabas/NATURAL and Adabas/NATURAL 2 for the development and maintenance of many on-line and batch processing systems in an MVS environment. These systems were directly related to coordinating the health, dental, flexible spending and stock ownership benefits of this companys pensioners, survivors and active employees.

3/90 to 3/91:

Signette, Inc., Christiana, Delaware.

I performed several data conversions. This companys sale of their Voter Registration system to various clients around the country made it necessary to convert the voter data from the clients already existing system into a usable format. The data was converted by writing a series of Dbase III programs that searched and replaced in an MS DOS environment.

12/88 to 2/89:

Charming Shoppes, Inc., Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

I wrote a series of Inventory Summary reports on several different reporting levels using COBOL and VSAM in an MVS environment.

10/88 to 11/88:

Garco, Inc., Exton, Pennsylvania.

I upgraded their existing Dbase III based Financial Analysis System to handle new reports which calculated sales analysis ratios.

7/87 to 9/88:

Campbell Soup Company, Camden, New Jersey.

My work utilized CSP, QMF, COBOL II, DB2 and SQL for the development and maintenance of their on-line/batch processing systems in an MVS environment.

6/86 to 5/87:

Mobil Oil Corporation, Fairfax, Virginia.

My duties while there included the maintenance and development of COBOL and CSP/DB2/SQL programs for one of their products systems and also the documentation of several existing PC systems.

3/85 to 9/85:

E.I. Dupont Company, Wilmington, Delaware.

I developed and implemented a data entry/data transfer system using Dbase III in an MS-DOS environment. I also maintained and developed several COBOL reporting programs and developed additional PC applications using the DATAEASE relational database system.
